Don't throw those seeds away! 8 things you can grow from seeds from everyday foods

Hi there, it's Minami.

All of a sudden, do you usually take fruits and vegetables?

I think most people eat vegetables, at least most of them.

If you can buy soil, why don't you plant the seeds of the vegetables and fruits you usually eat?

If you can have some greenery in your home while you eat, you'll kill two birds with one stone!

If you have children or other children, it would be a great way to educate them about food.

So I'd like to introduce you to some of the items we usually eat that can easily be grown from seeds.

Peppers

First, the seeds of the peppers.

Peppers are pretty cheap and many families consume them at a high frequency.

Pepper seeds aren't very pleasant to the touch, and most people remove them.

There! Try planting peppers.

If it's summer, it's going to grow like a champ!

Tomato

I'm sorry it's rotten, but it's not very appetizing... If you're on the verge of rotting, you can try planting a whole tomato.

I actually had a cherry tomato that I failed to remove when I was growing tomatoes and it fell into the soil area and put out a new eye as it was. LOL!

Very easy to grow and I recommend it. It is also insect resistant.

Strawberry

Strawberries also have seeds at the grain, don't they?

I know this is the part that you always eat, but if you notice it, you can collect it and dry it out.

Once the seeds are dry, they're ready to be planted!

Strawberries are quite an expensive fruit, so wouldn't you be lucky if you could grow them at home?

I'm under a lot of pressure to eat strawberries right away, but if you're growing them at home, you can eat a little bit of the good stuff a day, so it's just fine.

Dill

Dill is often sold in the spice section as dill seed.

Actually, that thing can be planted!

Of course, once you plant it, you'll have fresh dill growing out of it, so you'll have a wide variety of dishes to choose from.

Dill is a type of herb and is mainly used in Scandinavia.

I especially recommend it for fish dishes.

Dill is really vigorous, so I don't think it's possible to fail to grow it (as much as a weed).

However, you may want to avoid replanting them.

Every time I replant it, it dies as soon as I replant it. Other times I don't look at it much and don't do it, but it's healthy...strange.

I've created a separate article on further dill goodness, so if you're curious about it, go to here!

Watermelon / Melon

How about watermelon and melon as a change of pace?

Watermelon melons just grow under the soil, so you can only do this if you have a mini-field or other space.

However, the seeds often come out, so if you have a garden or a field at home, you might want to try it.

It seems to be easy to grow.

The following are some of the plants that take a few years to grow, but I would like to introduce some that can be enjoyed as houseplants and the process of growth.

Lemon

I think that lemons are often used at home to squeeze them into fried foods and so on.

I often use it to make chili dishes and salads, and I often get lemon seeds.

Lemons are not that hard to grow.

But it takes a long time for lemons to come to fruition, maybe two or three years.

While the growth itself will not be at the level of that large tree, it will grow to a reasonably large houseplant size.

But isn't it wonderful to have lemons in the house?

It will be a tall branch, which makes it a good interior decoration.

Avocado

You can also grow avocados, an ingredient that has been growing in popularity lately.

However, avocados, like lemons, take a very long time.

You know, I've been... trying to grow avocados for a while now.

You can use the cans that used to contain the cones and other ingredients, so it's easy to get started.

I've seen them growing in a restaurant when I went to Shin-Okubo. It was kind of lovely and emotional.

Avocado seeds are round and worth it on their own.

However, rather than growing avocados for the purpose of eating the fruit, it's better to think of them as a complete interior design.

Because in order for an avocado to bear fruit, it needs to be at tree level to be able to get it right.

If you have a garden or field in the long run and you want to grow fruit, try to reach fruition.

Avocados are expensive to buy, but they are delicious and nutritious, so if you can grow them to a fruit, you're in for a treat.

How was the article?

Were there any items that you normally consume? Let's get on with it!
