This time I am going to write an article about the best sightseeing in Freiburg, Baden-Baden, and the Black Forest.

At first I thought that Freiburg would only allow me to learn about the environment.

Freiburg

Freiburg is also famous as a clean city!

However, it is also a popular tourist destination for the people, full of nature.

There are actually many things that are unique to the local area!

The baguette was crispy and French bread-like, and the sausage was crunchy and chunky, but somehow it had a meaty flavor that I never got tired of despite its length!

You can buy and eat them at food stalls, so you may eat them in the delicious natural air, which makes them twice as tasty.

Baden-Baden

Along with Freiburg, Baden-Baden is definitely worth a visit!

Baden-Baden is a city in the state of Baden-Württemberg in southwestern Germany. It is located near the border with France and on the Rhine River. The population is approximately 54,000.

Baden-Baden has been known as a spa resort since Roman times; the Romans built bathhouses here in the 1st century. In the Middle Ages, it became the capital of the Duchy of Baden, and in the 19th century it became a popular summer resort for European royalty and wealthy people.

In fact, there are many immigrants from Ukraine now, and also many people from Russia, so I could hear Russian everywhere. It felt like a kind of mysterious space.

Baden-Baden is famous for its hot springs and casinos. It also retains many beautiful cityscapes and historical buildings. The main tourist attractions are as follows

Baths of Caracalla: Ruins of a Roman baths. It is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Friedrich Baths: Luxurious bathhouse built in the 19th century.

Baden-Baden has a casino and a large bathhouse built by Emperor Caracalla during the Roman Empire, where you can bathe naked in the hot springs.

I didn't go in, but when I walked near the main baths, there was a manhole with steam coming out of it and I felt the hot spring there (lol) I feel like I'm getting healthier!

Incidentally, I was not able to join the tour due to my itinerary, so I only had the opportunity to visit the site. Even so, there were many visitors, and some of them were museums and other exhibitions, so the facility was surprisingly well rooted in the local community!

This aspect was something new to me because it was not reported on Youtube.

It is true that there were many rich-looking people in this neighborhood. Maybe it is just my impression.

In fact, the land is associated with Mexican master Frida Kahlo!

There's also a Frida Kahlo museum.

Frida Kahlo is quite a prominent figure if you have studied Latin America, but for those who don't know her, she is a representative Mexican woman painter of the 20th century and is known as the “first Mexican painter” whose work was acquired by the Louvre Museum.

Originally, she was always smart enough to study to be a doctor (with a wealthy family background, of course), but she became a painter and attracted a lot of attention because female painters were quite limited at that time.

So, Frida Kahlo's father is actually from Germany and lived here in Baden-Baden before coming to Mexico!

Black Forest

Nature lovers and those who like to exercise should visit the Black Forest (Schwarzwald) behind these two cities!

The artisanal cuckoo clock actually originated here in the Black Forest.

However, if you want to buy them at the airport, they are very expensive (～～～～), so if you want to buy them, go to a local store or buy them online.

There is a vast black forest on the east side of Freiburg, and the honey from there is also quite famous.

I bought some honey gummies to take home. I would recommend these as well, as just the fact that they are gummy bears already makes them a typical German souvenir.

The Black Forest is too large to introduce here, and there are many ways to enjoy nature!

The Black Forest really covers most of southwestern Germany, so it is impossible to visit all of the famous tourist attractions in a single day.

I was in a very northerly part of the Black Forest, so I couldn't go to the bear nature park or anything to the south. I would like to go there someday if I get the chance.

There are many hiking routes so that both beginners and advanced hikers can enjoy the area. The information center is also quite well equipped!

Personally, I would highly recommend going to this place if you like hiking.
