Recommended Souvenirs to buy in Prague, Czech Republic [2024 Edition

Hello everyone.

The Czech Republic is really a wonderful country, not too expensive for the EU, and once you go there, you will want to do a lot of shopping. I did.

There are so many things to choose from, but I would like to write about the things I was glad I bought when I was there.

Here are some of our favorite souvenirs and personal favorites.

 So here you go.

Confectionery section, Food & Beverage section

This section focuses on items that can be purchased at supermarkets.

There are several kinds of supermarkets, and some supermarkets sell some things and some don't, so it may be easier to find what you want to find if you look at two or more.

Beer (alcoholic beverage)

Czech beer is famous!

Most impressive and famous is the size of the beer served in the restaurant.

If you want to give something related to the Czech Republic that you have already forgotten to buy, you may give the following. I mean, I would be happy to receive it.

Kolonáda (giant goblet)

It is something you can buy at the supermarket.

It is what is called a goblet.

It is usually delicious.

The coin is in the shape of the Czech Koruna, the currency of the Czech Republic, with a medieval atmosphere.

They are mysteriously overpriced and sold in souvenir shops, but if you have a ticket for a ride, take public transportation to the supermarket! You can easily get around Prague by train or bus, and the fares and ticket purchase methods are not too bad. In fact, it's easier than in Japan (look for a separate article by one of the many experts in this field).

It is an oversized disk and may be about the size of the palm of an adult hand. Maybe even larger?

I like Czech currency because it has a very medieval design.

Pranik

It is very similar to Russian pliyanik. However, this is a chocolate flavor, so it is a little different from the pliyanik I have had in Russia. You can get it in basic supermarkets.

There are two main ways to obtain this product.

The first is ready-made and ready-to-eat. The second is to eat it at home with a simple version of cooking powder for making it yourself.

I personally prefer the taste, and I definitely prefer the latter, self-baked version!

It is easy to make with Google Translate. It would be very well received if you give it to someone who likes to cook or bake it yourself.

The good thing is that they are very inexpensive and small at 19 coronas apiece.

Esíčka biscuits

These cookies are thick, lovely and delicious!

It has a normal little cinnamon taste to it, not too sweet.

It is a foreign taste that seems to be well received by the Japanese.

Each cookie is very thick and satisfying even if you only eat one!

Have you ever made cookies by hand? They taste rustic and natural like those! That's Europe. So natural.

However, it is a large case so it is quite bulky. You can find them in supermarkets.

Chocolate bar by Orion

Orion is a candy brand of a Czech company, and you can find many kinds of chocolate bars in supermarkets.

KOFILA, for example, mentioned above, was a chocolate with a rather fashionable liqueur (liquor-like) coffee-flavored filling.

Plain type is also available, and the size is small and reasonably priced. How about a small packet to give away?

consumable goods

I've only found one non-food consumable...how about the following?

Bath and skin care products made from beer

This is amazing! The Czech Republic is certainly famous for its beer, but if you want to give something to a friend who is not a beer drinker, I think this would be a great gift.

Or, it could be good for those who want to avoid bringing beer because it is heavy, but are thinking of bringing some liquid.......

I will also tell you the name of this store, as there was only one store when I saw it in the tourist area of the old town.

ManifakturaThat's the name of the place. Please look for it if you go there.

Products from Russian-speaking countries

超個人的に刺さったものとしては、チェコでロシア製品が買えるということです!!

This is because, after all, the country has a culture that is close to that of Russia. The import and export of products is also closer to Russia than to other countries.

Famous Russian bath products skin care productsNatura Sibericacan be bought at pharmacies.

objects

There are so many cute things to choose from!

scarf

The stole is adorable!

It is colorful, thin and warm! And the pattern is very cute with ethnic or bohemian patterns and colorful colors!

Some stores sell them for 300 or more, but I think it's better to buy them at the cheapest place because the patterns are usually the same everywhere.

Clock motif

The Czech Republic is known for its..! It is said to be the oldest astronomical clock!

There are some trick clock magnets and other things for people who like little toys. They are often sold at mini-marts and other places.

We also sell bookmarks, such as the ones shown below. Bookmarks are low-cost and easy to buy for dispersal.

If you have someone around who loves books, or if you want a souvenir of your own, this is a must have. They are colorful and very beautiful!

Starbucks local mugs, etc.

Starbucks mugs are cute too!

(Why are there so many Starbucks in central Prague? Is it because most of them are tourists and tourists tend to go into the ones they see surprisingly often?)

The only drawback is that the pricing is relatively aggressive. Oh, I mean relative to prices, of course. I think it is relatively expensive.

wooden products

The Czech Republic also has an art deco culture, and wooden products are very cute.

These wooden coasters are very elaborate and cute!

The other thing I didn't take a picture of, but it was nice to see that there were wooden card holders for poker.

Souvenirs with art deco motifs

Art Deco is one of the Czech Republic's most iconic designs, and buying souvenirs with Art Deco motifs is also a uniquely Czech choice.

A bit conceptual, (Art Déco) is a decorative style that was popular in Europe and the United States from the mid-1910s through the 1930s. It is characterized by designs composed of lines, symbols, geometric patterns and patterns, and originated in France.

Although this is slightly similar to the introduction of wooden products mentioned earlier, I feel that the culture is similar to that of Japanese woodworking, and I like it.

Souvenirs related to Vikings, runes, medieval knights and fantasy

Give it to a friend or someone close to you who likes medieval-style games!

In Slavic-speaking cultures, some people buy souvenirs related to ancient runes.

However, many of them are also quite bullish here at tourist prices. I think the prices are hard to afford unless you really like it.

However, the quality is very high and there are items that do not seem to be sold in Japan, so those who like this kind of thing should definitely try to find them!

Personally, I was excited when I found it.

If you don't want to spend too much money, you could buy something like a miniature knight statue.

Glassware/ Products made of glass

The glass products are very famous as Czech glass.

In addition to the cup type, I personally would like to recommend mugs.

I think this is true for Europe in general, but the "mugs available locally" are all chubby or medieval style, cool or cute!

Where to buy

Basically, Prague's Old city

If you want to buy souvenirs or eat traditional European food, just tell the people around you that you want to go to Old Town.

Conclusion

How was it? We hope it was helpful.

I really like the Czech Republic, so I would be happy if I could convey its charm.
