Recommended applications for those interested in environmental and sustainability-related topics
Hi there, it's Minami.
In recent years, more and more people have become interested in sustainability and the environment. This is true even for those who have never studied the environment to begin with.
But there are still many people who don't know where to start.
We would like to introduce you to several apps related to sustainability and the environment that you can easily download and use!
They are all really excellent applications, so if you are interested in any of them, please download them.
Please take a look at some of the apps that may be useful for those who are already interested in climate change and the environment.
(The author is on iOS, so apologies in case there are any apps not implemented on android!)
Table of Contents
AWORLD
AWORLD is an application that allows you to record your own actions on ecology and climate change.
There is no lack of similar applications in Japanese, but I personally think AWORLD is quite nicely organized and easy to use.
You can also accumulate points for doing earth-friendly things in a day's activities.
It's a point system, so there is a sense of accomplishment and motivation there.
The only problem is that it is in English.
But why not use it as a way to learn English while you're at it?
There is not that much difficult English. Many of them are related to daily life, such as showers, feet, and so on, so the hurdle is not so high.
MYMIZU
Mymizu is an application that allows you to find water supply locations throughout Japan!
I have often found this application to be very good for students who don't have a lot of money.
The MYMIZU application has been summarized in a separate article, which may be of interest to those interested.
UNFCCC COP
This is originally intended as an application that can be used during the COP, but it is useful even if you are not attending the COP.
For those of you who are not familiar with COP, it is an international conference on climate change held once a year. The leaders of the world gather to discuss and decide on global policies on climate change, and each country also holds a pavilion-like event to introduce its own initiatives.
Since it is UNFCCC, this application must still be used in English.
There are several menus for attending the COP. There is an agenda for each day of the two-week session, a map of the participants, and a map of the local venues.
Besides for participants, for example, you can see a summary of the results of the most recent COP, and listen to podcasts of the people involved, although they are irregular. The other part I use the most is the UN Climate Change news section.
I wonder if you can include this app if you want to see UN climate change related news.
ECOSIA
It is a petit famous application.
ECOSIA, a Google-like search site, is an application.
With this app, ECOSIA will do the planting for you, depending on how many searches you do.
There have been so many ads on various websites that say, "Today is ________ Day. Do a search and we will make a donation to ●●" It seems like the ads have been going on forever.
It could be that thanks to your search, a tree is being planted. Since it's a search you do all the time, you might as well use an application that shows you are connected to environmentally friendly actions.
Preparation for the eco certification environmental test
It is an application for a specific exam preparation, but it is also good for studying just by looking at it or brushing it in your spare time.
Environmental Society Test
I honestly don't know why the rating is so low, but if you are really using it for exam study preparation, it may be inconvenient for you. But if you use it with Tokuyo occasionally in your spare time, it is totally beneficial and I think it is good.
You can solve past problems, mock problems, and practice problems to prepare for the eco-test.
You get to know how the world has moved so far on climate change and the environment, what components are being processed, etc.!
Green Note
Very nice app!!! It is.
You will find a comprehensive collection of environmental and sustainability news.
You don't have to look at all the different pages.
You can see them all together here.
The information posted here is compiled mainly from relatively reliable sources, which is also good. It is very convenient because you can get information from companies related to news such as Nikkei, as well as from organizations such as JETRO.
The app also has a tool called "Room," where you can collect points and buy clothes for your avatar based on your own eco-friendly efforts.
The background is dirty with trash and other debris thrown about when efforts are not yet underway, but as efforts progress, the area gradually becomes cleaner.
If it is troublesome to put in several applications, it may be good to do various things with this one application.
How was the article?
I hope you find even one application of interest.
I was also going to introduce the Climate Reality app, but for some reason it didn't work this time due to a glitch.
If we are able to successfully launch the application again someday, we would like to introduce this interesting initiative.
See you in another article.
