Gardening

[Diary of a vegetable garden] September 2023 [Oregano, basil, mint, rosemary, wild berries].

Hi there, it's Minami.

First of all, I like to try a lot of different things, and since I don't want to get too many of each for consumption, I grow a little bit of each variety.

Again, here are some of the good and the bad both.

Plants introduced before

The pak choi(coriander) grew unexpectedly.

Surprisingly, the pak choi is growing well even though the seeds were only scattered randomly.

This will make fresh tacos!

(I really didn't plant them at equal spacing or anything like that. (I didn't really plant them evenly spaced or anything like that, but it gives you hope to know that they can grow even if you don't plant them properly.)

pak choi seedsis recommended because it is relatively easy to obtain!

Wild Strawberries are grown from seedlings and are growing well and in good shape even with a few days of sensible watering.

(I think there was a little strawberry when I bought it, but I think it's being eaten)

Basil is attacked by aphids.

Basil was eaten by insects. By insects, I mean aphids.

(Why is it that when I bought it at the home improvement store it was bug free, but as soon as I get it home I get aphids? LOL)

I sprayed them with a spray of vinegar diluted with water as an insect control measure, but that still did not work.

I don't know what I'm going to do, for now I'm going to put some herbs that are well known as insect repellents before I leave it.

And for some reason, even the herbs have suffered a bit of insect infestation!

Fluffy, probablyaromaticusI think it is (not too sure since it was given to me), but even that has been damaged...!

I just hope there will be no more damage.

The basil seedlings and roots still seem to be alive, so I'll give it a bit of a look.

I hope that during this time the drip ladybugs will be able to come to us.

Incidentally, under the aromaticas there isoregano (Origanum vulgare)is only one tree that has been growing long and is a bit uneasy, but it seems to be growing nicely and without any problems.

When I have a little more, I would like to use it more actively in cooking, such as pasta!

Rosemary looks fine as usual! After all, if the leaves are hardy? It's very hardy.

Houseplants

Pachira grows big.

The pachira I bought for 300 yen has really grown up with a lot of leaves!

Pachira (Pachygrapsus pinnatifida)I think it is easy to grow from a young age, even for a relatively sloppy person!

On the other hand, I have another plant with an unnamed name, and the other one is a little less vigorous...

In some cases, you may need to purchase a nutritional drink-like substance for houseplants. It is like the green liquid that often sticks.
