[Gardening diary]Purchased an explosion of houseplants [August 2024].

Hi there, it's Minami.

This is a vegetable garden diary for August 2024.

I grow mainly herbs and other usable and edible plants. I want to try many different kinds of herbs, and I don't want to get too many of each for consumption, so I grow a variety of herbs little by little.

Continuing on from last month, I never thought I would, but I got hooked on houseplants, which I thought I would never get hooked on.

Again, here are some of the good and the bad both.

You can check other archives byClicking here.

 So here you go.

I've bought so many pachira trees that I don't know how many I'm going to buy.

It's okay. I just want to be a part of the happy tree.

I started getting into houseplants and buying a lot of them on Mercury.

I purchased several houseplants from Mercari!

There are many things I think about and learn from buying plants on flea market apps... I would like to write a separate article on this topic.

I also picked up a few things at Daiso.

The eye-catching image in this article (the first image), the vase shown, was actually obtained from Daiso!

Of course it wasn't 100 yen, but isn't it pretty high quality?

Please please try to find it!

If you can't find it or it's too far from your Daiso house, the following may be similar products.

(Cute)

Repotting Pots

This time I repotted Dania's pot for her.

He looks heartily happy.

I have been keeping them in the default pots they were in when I bought them, so I am hoping they will grow even more in the future.

Still, Dania is really tough!

I have only given it water, but it has grown strong and thick with stems like tree trunks without any work.

mushroom emergence

Yes, there were times when mushrooms grew.

I wondered if it would have been better not to spread woodchips on the ground, but I decided to take them off.

If there are mushrooms, spores will fly, so everyone should pick the mushrooms instead of leaving them in place.

This is a corner of houseplants bought from Mercari.

Monstera, rubber tree and pothos seedlings.

These are all cute, but unfortunately, they were not cuttings with roots growing...

It is my fault that I did not check the plants in detail, but I am looking at them getting weaker and weaker, and I am wondering if there is any way to save them.........................

Vegetable garden area is open to nature without any particular harvest

The wild strawberries are blooming and bearing fruit at an extraordinary rate, but I can no longer keep up with them.

I decided to leave it alone and contribute to the local ecosystem.

Thanks to you, the bugs are handling it or not.

So far, we haven't had any problems with increased insects, so that's good!

This is my usual herb gathering planter. The mint has been dead for some time 💦.

The mint should be growing on the far right.

But mint has great vitality, so I think I'll cover the new shoots that will emerge. It's not like I'm going to use it for anything right away anyway, even if it grows now. (I would only use it mainly in winter if I were to use it.)

The wood tiles in the garden have lost their coating and are starting to look like regular wood.

It's exposed to rain and wind, so it can't be helped.

Although the coating is peeling off, this is now antique and stylish.

Or rather, we were initially looking for this type of system!

I also bought other houseplants. This one was purchased with the intention of having a selection of low stature ones as well!

Of course, Dracena is an exception. LOL!

I forgot the name for a moment...both are houseplants with glossy leaves!

Conclusion

How was the article?

I am sure that I will make many mistakes with houseplants in the future, so I would like to learn through experience.

Be aware that there have been many typhoons and other weather disturbances recently!

So long!
