[Home Gardening Diary] Purchasing Seedlings in Large Quantities! August 2022

Hi there, it's Minami.

It's been almost 3 years since I've written a vegetable garden diary series? It has been a while.

In fact, while I was not updating it, I planted various things and they died, planted and they died...repeatedly.

In order to fulfill my sloppy desire to have plants in my house and to fill the room with more oxygen (?), I would like to revive my observation diary again! I would like to revive my observation diary on an irregular basis!

The diary of the balcony cultivation, is resumed.

By the way, the last one was here in summer 2019.

I used to grow blueberries. (They stopped producing fruit because they could not pollinate, and now they are dead..............crying)

 So here you go.

spring cleaning

We did a big cleanup because there were so many dead leaves.

Dead leaves had accumulated and drainage was poor.

I feel so much better now that my balcony is clean!

I have never put pots and pans in my planters, but now I have learned and have started to put pots and pans in my planters.

I heard that dirt and grime on balconies can really reduce the efficiency of air conditioners. We learned this and decided to purchase the product because it would help us keep the balcony clean.

Moreover, with the saucer, I feel that water vapor and other substances are returned to the soil from below.

I bought mine from 100s of places, but they didn't have the long 60cm pot dish I wanted. I may have to look for this at another home improvement center....

New seedlings

Bought a bunch of new seedlings!

Dill

Celery

Rosemary

Mint

Flowers such as bellflower

Dill

I had actually grown dill before, but it died and disappeared, so I bought it again.

Dill is surprisingly useful when you have it, in fish-based dishes and soups.

I have compiled too much about dill for my liking, so I hope you will read this as well.

Celery

I bought celery for the first time. I didn't know you could grow celery at home!

The one I purchased is called soup celery.

Tried it once in garlic pasta to test it out and it was tender and soooo good!

Rosemary

I had been thinking for a while that rosemary was "fashionable, but I don't end up using it for cooking...maybe I don't need it," but the aroma was so good that I finally got around to it this time.

As a result, it was the right decision to buy it.

Actually, I do have some dried rosemary.

Now that I've bought some fresh rosemary, I'm going to try my hand at making focaccia!

It seems to go well with chicken-based dishes.

Peppermint

Mint, which is synonymous with hardy herbs because it is watered too little, has also died. Mint, which is synonymous with hardy herbs, had also died.

...so I bought another new one as my life has settled down.

This time I won't let it die!

Personally, I prefer the softer mojito mint for its appearance and softness...but the mojito mint tends to wither more easily, so I went with the peppermint.

In winter, I drink it in hot water quite often and relax, so I will prepare it now.

It looks like there are some seeds.

Yerba Buena, which is easily used in mojitos, is here.

Flowers such as bellflower

I actually bought the bellflowers this time last year, and they were blooming surprisingly continuously (I think they were blooming for at least a month or two by feel), so I bought them again this year!

Big purple flowers in pots are so beautiful that I can't help but look at them when I have time...

I also wanted another flower for indoors, though I can't remember the name for a moment, so I bought a seedling with small white flowers that was on sale.

Planting New Seeds

Wildflowers are flower seeds that are a mixture of many different kinds of flowers.

This is a good time of year to plant beets, but we were a little short on space so we decided to pass on it. I may plant them at a later date.

something that occurs to me

Do not place plants in front of ducts

The planter's saucer made sense.

Is it? I hope the plant will live long this time.

Typhoon coming, but hang in there!

Many insights were gained this month.
